Introduction

A little overview of life thus far

I was born in New Orleans, LA. We only lived there for 2 years before moving to St. Louis, MI. After a year of snow and cold weather, my mother, originally from Gainesville, FL, had had enough and begged my father to move her where it was warm. We three ended up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I was raised there and upon graduation, attended Davidson College . I had had enough of Florida and wanted to live in an entirely new state. When the first snowstorm hit my freshman year, however, I became a little homesick for my shorts and flip-flops days in the heat and humidity.

I loved Davidson. I loved its small size, the beautiful campus and the fact that I was surrounded by plenty of smart people who could be dorky kids, too. I fell in love with English classes because you could state your opinion forthright and never fear your professor telling you that your analyzation was utterly incorrect. Such freedom! Consequently, I became an English major and would have majored in Communications, but the college was too small and didn't offer such specialties.

As graduation approached, I didn't want to accept the "real world" just yet. While many of my friends were interviewing for teaching positions or banking jobs, I decided to move to a new town. I moved to Gainesville, FL for the year, a decision mainly influenced by my extreme love of the great and glorious Florida Gators. I have been a Gator since birth and will be a die-hard fan forever. Even if Steve Spurrier snuck out the door on his faithful fans...

I quickly tired of Gainesville and the do-nothing attitude that I had imagined would be so wonderful. I didn't have anything to do besides my job and I disliked it. Opportunity arose and I moved to Atlanta, GA to start over again and try something new. I loved Atlanta. I loved its city life. I went to graduate school at Georgia State University , getting my Masters in Technical Writing. I'm also working 2 jobs to keep up with the high standard of living! One of my additional "hobbies" is writing for a bridal magazine called "I Do..." For Brides . It allows me to write a different style than graduate work would permit. Nevertheless, I'm non-stop and loving it. I don't have enough time to read all the books I want, but I'll get to them eventually. Maybe on my next vacation to the beach with my girlfriends!

The ultimate goal for me is to get a great job as a technical writer, or at the very least, a job very involved in technology. I'm so interested in the latest tricks available and would love to have a job that incorporated technology daily.
